Our  Second Annual  New Year's Celebration at Great Sacred Wailua
The oldest and lushest of all the Hawaiian Islands, Kaua'i has long been called "The Garden Isle" - and is now as famous for its natural healing powers and unique spiritual energy as it is for its gorgeous green mountains, endless beaches, rainbows, waterfalls and other scenic wonders.Wailuia Beach

Our home for the New Year's Celebration will be an historic area on Kaua'i's eastern shore, where the legendary Wailua River meets the majestic blue Pacific.  Originally known as Wailua nui a ho' ano(Great Sacred Wailua), this idyllic location was the spiritual center of the island - and the gathering place of the ali'i(Hawaiian chiefs).

The naturally lush grounds of our open-air, Hawaiian-style hotel ( The Kaua'i SunSpree Resort) are adjacent to the ancient heiau(temples) known as Hikina A Ka La (rising of the Sun) and Hau' ola(dew of life).  Near this inspiring site, we will greet the first dawn of the New Year much as Hawaiians have chanted to the sunrise for countless generations.

With many of Hawaii's most respected elders, teachers, storytellers, dancers, chanters, drummers and musicians as your guides, you will participate in a truly unique program of authentic Hawaiian culture and spirituality unlike anything the typical tourist will ever experience.

Smiling GirlsAlong with the members of our newly-created 'ohana(family), you will take part in specially-designed workshops, enchanting performances, and fascinating presentations that will embody the true beauty of Kaua'i's gracious culture and her people.

You'll return home inspired to weave the heart-filled spirit of aloha throughout your daily life - with unforgettable memories of a celebration worthy of ending the Millennial Year 2000 and "officially" beginning the 21st Century.

A Perfect Way and a Perfect Place to Celebrate the New Year
New Year's Eve is traditionally a time for renewal and reflection.  At last year's Millennium Celebration on Kaua'i we honored that tradition - and created one of our own - by greeting the Year 2000 in the spirit of aloha.  For the hundreds of kindred spirits who gathered together at Kaua'i's Great Sacred Wailua, it was an unforgettable experience and a true landmark in their respective - and collective - lives.

We invite you to join us in continuing the tradition of honoring the New Year on Kaua'i, as we cross over into 2001 in a joyous "Celebration of Spirit and Discovery."

From our Opening Ceremony to our heartfelt closing activities, you will be part of a thoroughly enchanting and enlightening program that will capture the very essence of aloha.
